ABOUT THE COURSE

HEDIS stands for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set and employers and individuals use HEDIS to measure the quality of health plans existing in the market.

HEDIS measures how well health plans give service and care to their members. Typically, health plans collect data about certain health services provided by physicians in medical offices.

HEDIS measures address a broad range of important health issues such as:

  • Asthma Medication Use
  • Persistence of Beta Blocker Treatment after a Heart Attack
  • Controlling High Blood Pressure
  • Comprehensive Diabetes Care
  • Breast Cancer Screening
  • Antidepressant Medication Management
  • Childhood and Adolescent Immunization Status
  • Childhood and Adult Weight/BMI Assessment

SEMINAR OBJECTIVE

Provide to participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to use properly the 2018 HEDIS measures and domains in order to improve patient care quality outcomes and capture missing revenues for physicians and healthcare organizations

SEMINAR REQUIREMENTS

-Seminar is directed to health care professionals (RN, LPN, Medical Coders, HIM professionals, Medical Assistants, Reimbursement &Insurance specialists, etc) with an adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes, Managed Care and Medical Insurance.

Additional separate seminars are available to participants for ICD-10 Updates, Medical Terminology and Anatomy and/or CPT/HCPCS Codes.
